Hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s & Thyroid Treatment Books by Paul Robinson

This is a short blog post to remind people about Paul Robinson’s books on thyroid hormone problems, hypothyroidism treatment and other related issues.

Together The Thyroid Patient’s Manual, Recovering with T3 , The CT3M Handbook and Articles on Hypothyroidism form the Recovering from Hypothyroidism series.

The Thyroid Patient’s Manual is the book that I suggest thyroid patients read first. It covers everything someone would need to know to understand their thyroid issue. The Thyroid Patient’s Manual explains how the thyroid system actually works and will help all thyroid patients understand how to choose and optimise their thyroid treatment. The book has a Chapter on using each of the main thyroid treatments: T4, natural desiccated thyroid (NDT), T4/T3 and T3-Only. Some issues interfere with thyroid treatment, e.g. vitamins, minerals, cortisol, sex hormones, etc. The book explains these important factors, how to test for them and how to resolve them, so that your thyroid treatment can work well. This manual will help most of you who have either suspected, or diagnosed, thyroid hormone problems.

Recovering with T3 is essential reading for those who need to use some T3 (Liothyronine) or mostly T3 in order to get well. It briefly explains my own story and why I needed T3. Most of the book is about all the information that someone who needs to use T3 requires. This includes thyroid laboratory test results when on T3, cortisol and a lot of related topics. Importantly, it describes a detailed protocol for managing treatment, dosing of T3 and the careful adjusting of those doses. It also includes the optional part of my protocol for correcting low cortisol (CT3M). Plus a lot more. This book really is an essential read for those who find they need T3 in their treatment.

The CT3M Handbook is a companion book to Recovering with T3. CT3M is a protocol aimed to raise cortisol without using steroids like hydrocortisone. Cortisol is the major partner of T3 in the cells and people never feel well with low cortisol even if thyroid hormone is perfectly adjusted. The book provides additional information, over what is already in Recovering with T3, on the Circadian T3 Method (CT3M).

Articles on Hypothyroidism is a compilation of the best articles that Paul has written on hypothyroidism, its treatment and related issues. These articles were written over a fifteen year period, but have been re-edited and refined for the book. This book now completes the Recovering from Hypothyroidism series.
