Valerie’s Story

Thyroid Treatment:
Circadian T3 Method, T3

T3 saved me, I returned to work and claimed my life back.

In 2014, I was diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism and no treatment offered by doctors in the UK. By this stage, I spent 18-20 hours in bed each day with complete exhaustion, the times when I was awake, I started researching and looking to find solutions to gain part of my life back. I discovered the world of adrenals and here are my results

In 2014:

  • Sample 1 9.9 (range 12 -22)
  • Sample 2 4.3 (range 5.0 – 9.0)
  • Sample 3 3.8 (range 3.0 – 7.0)
  • Sample 4 2.2 (range 1.0 – 3.0)

Body Temperature: 34.35

My blood serum cortisol levels just tipped into the range at 212 (200 – 500). I tried T4 and NDT and these made me feel worse. I stumbled across a popular website which suggested that taking hydrocortisone (HC) would help to improve my lows and followed this approach for about 9 months in 2016. During this time, I started to hear about how T3 can help raise low cortisol and found Paul’s website and books.

In 2016:

I moved to T3 only, weaning off HC in a month, as I understood the protocol better in December 2016. I found my CT3M sweet spot of 4:30 am after about 12 weeks of monitoring and checking vitals. My best ever sleeping sessions. In 2017, I had to have surgery and finally found that anaesthetics really messed with cortisol and had to be supported by HC for a short time, so some of my tests in this period show high cortisol. Things settled back down and I continued with my CT3M dose.

In July 2019:

I checked my saliva results and now significantly different from 2014 (note different laboratory references ranges):

  • Sample 1 10.68 (2.68- 9.30)
  • Sample 2 1.71 (0.75 – 2.93)
  • Sample 3 2.32 (0.36- 1.88)
  • Sample 4 0.44 (<0.94)

Body Temperature: 36.4

In July 2020:

  • Sample 1 8.14 (2.68- 9.30)
  • Sample 2 2.95 (0.75 – 2.93)
  • Sample 3 3.26 (0.36 – 1.88)
  • Sample 4 0.55 (<0.94)

Body Temperature: 36.4

My blood serum clocking in at 425 (range 113-456) and has maintained this level during 2020.

So I no longer have the need to take a CT3M dose and I have adjusted the timing of my doses.

T3 saved me, I returned to work and claimed my life back.

CT3M was a total game-changer for me, even though it required time and effort (and still does) of monitoring vitals and body temperature.

*** Comment from Paul Robinson on this Success Story: Note the lab reference ranges are different in the second two saliva cortisol tests from the first test. But keeping that in mind it is obvious that CT3M did assist the improvement of cortisol levels throughout the day – just as it did for me ***
